Create, vote and interact with polls
Pollz is a mobile app that allows users to create, interact and vote on polls. Users can build networks and publish public or private posts, with full visibility on the results and comments. Businesses may use Pollz to gather valuable customer feedback and insights to inform their strategy and business decisions.
What problem are we trying to solve?
To combat the negative impacts of social media on young people, Pollz aims to provide an online space for young people that offers connection and community through interaction with content different from regular social media channels.
Design solutions
Visual design that appeals to younger users and feels lighthearted and delightful.
Ability to connect to others to build your own community.
An intuitive and multi-step poll creation flow to enhance user experience and encourage poll generation.
A detailed results screen that allows business accounts to interpret responses to inform business decisions.

My involvement
I led the design project from initial workshops with the client, through to full high fidelity prototype. Throughout the entire process, I worked closely with the client and product strategist to ensure we were on target and solving the problem the client envisioned.

Research
To understand the problem we are trying to solve, and the users I am designing for, I conducted user research, assessed competitors, and set objectives as to the scope of the project.
Sketches
I mapped out core screens to align with the client on scope and features, and started to consider how to design a social media app based on polls that encourages users to interact and participate.
Wireframes
I moved onto creating a full wireframe prototype where I explored information architecture and user flows. I used this prototype to gather feedback from user testing which informed further design iterations and solutions.

Branding
With the intention of Pollz being a positive, youthful app, I established a colourful branding that incorporated soft colours, illustrations, and a playful feature font. With the array of colours being used, I used Raisin Black as my primary colour to help the user’s eye focus on interactive elements.
High fidelity prototype
My final deliverable for this project was a full high fidelity prototype that the clients could use to raise funds for development and garner support for next steps
